Our friends Tessa and Finnegan came over again the other day and the boys had another great play date - except when Eli was trying to make sure Finnegan didn't touch any of his toys! (have we reached the terrible twos already?? :-) Seriously, despite the territorialism and one minor incident with a xylophone mallet, Finn and Eli seem to get along great. Eli even planted a kiss on Finnegan at the end of the day!

Eli, Paul and I went to the Aquarium at Coney Island over the weekend. Eli had a wonderful time, especially since he just learned how to make a fish face.
The only black spot on the day was a small mishap at the fur seal tank.
I was happily snapping away on my camera as Eli leaned in closer to see the seal and then..
:-( Fortunately, he wasn't hurt too badly. There was a big bump and a few tears, but he was all smiles after just a few moments.
Grandpa Bill, Grandma Cam, Eli and I went to the Milwaukee County Zoo! It was Eli's second trip to that particular zoo and he was MUCH more interested in the goings-on this time around. We particularly had fun in the monkey house where we got to see some gorillas and a rather unfriendly macaque who charged at Eli several times (fortunately, he was behind glass... unfortunately, I didn't get a good photo). Eli stood his ground though. Brave little boy!
On a slightly tamer note, Eli got to have his first pony ride!
